Frühlingsfest 2026: Dates, Prices & What's New for the 60th Anniversary

Munich's beloved spring festival is celebrating a milestone this year. The 60th Frühlingsfest returns to the Theresienwiese with a historic first: an extended run of three full weeks. Here's everything confirmed so far for the 2026 edition.

Official Dates: April 17 - May 10, 2026

Frühlingsfest 2026 runs from Friday, April 17 through Sunday, May 10 — three weeks instead of the usual two. The extension marks the festival's 60th anniversary, making this the longest Frühlingsfest in history.

May 1 (Labour Day) falls within the festival dates, giving visitors an extra public holiday to enjoy.

Opening Hours

  • Monday - Friday: 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM
  • Saturday, Sunday & May 1: 10:00 AM - 11:00 PM
  • Last beer orders: 10:30 PM

Confirmed Beer Prices

Beer prices for 2026 have been confirmed, and they remain significantly cheaper than Oktoberfest:

TentBreweryPrice per Maß
Festhalle BayernlandAugustiner€13.50
HippodromSpaten€14.50

For comparison, Oktoberfest 2025 prices ranged from €14.90 to €15.90 per Maß. Frühlingsfest continues to offer one of the best value-for-money beer festival experiences in Munich.

The Two Beer Tents

Festhalle Bayernland

The oldest tent at Frühlingsfest serves Augustiner beer — widely regarded as Munich's finest brewery. Known for its traditional Bavarian atmosphere, the Festhalle Bayernland features live brass bands and Bavarian music daily. Augustiner's famous wooden-barrel beer (Holzfassbier) is a highlight that purists travel specifically for.

Reservations are available online at festhalle-bayernland.de for tables of 10 or more.

Hippodrom

Run by the Krätz family, the Hippodrom serves Spaten beer and seats approximately 2,000 guests. It's known for its dual personality: business-friendly during the day with a livelier party atmosphere in the evenings. The tent features live bands and brass ensembles daily.

Reservations are available online at hippodrom.de for tables of 10 or more.

Both tents offer free entry — no tickets required. Walk-ins are possible, especially on weekdays.

What's New for the 60th Anniversary

Three Weeks for the First Time

The biggest change for 2026 is the extended duration. The festival typically runs for about two weeks, but the 60th anniversary has earned it a full three-week run from April 17 to May 10. This means more opportunities to visit, less pressure to plan around a narrow window, and a more relaxed atmosphere overall.

Rides and Attractions

The 2026 edition features over 100 vendors with more than 30 rides, including:

  • A 50+ meter Willenborg Ferris wheel — the largest ever at Frühlingsfest
  • Classic thrill rides, bumper cars, and family-friendly attractions
  • Food stalls spanning traditional Bavarian fare to festival snacks

Special Events

  • Fireworks: Scheduled for Friday evenings during the festival
  • Family Day: Tuesdays from 12:00 to 7:00 PM with discounted ride prices and family-friendly programming
  • Bavarian Red Cross Flea Market: First Saturday of the festival
  • Classic Car Meeting: Held on one of the Tuesdays
  • Day of Customs (Tag der Trachten): Celebrating Bavarian tradition

Getting There

The festival is held on the northern section of the Theresienwiese — the same grounds as Oktoberfest, but a smaller footprint.

  • U-Bahn: U4/U5 to Theresienwiese (recommended)
  • S-Bahn: Hackerbrücke, then a 10-minute walk
  • On foot: 15 minutes from Munich Hauptbahnhof

Driving is discouraged — there's no parking on or near the grounds.
